Brotherly Love

Our cats Pako and Alex have been with us since they where 5 weeks old or 8.5 years. They are brothers: at times fighting with intense ferocity, other times the model of cuddly love. photo and post by navar

  1. IT REALLY IS FUNNY JUST HOW CLOSE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE PET WORLD CAN BE! MY TWO DOGS ARE BROTHER AND SISTER AND YOU JUST CANNOT KEEP THEM APART FROM EACH OTHER WITHOUT THE OTHER ONE GETTING DEPRESSED.

  2. Great post Navar.

I’ve had many “sibling” animals. We had two lab sisters. One black and one yellow. The black one got hit by a car in front of the yellow one and she cried real tears. I saw them. She was inconsolable for a long time after. She never did fully recover and I almost wish she’d have died too. We can’t even leave her to take a trip. If my husband or I are gone, she paces and cries going from window to window. I love her dearly but she’s a lot of work. They are way more human like that a lot of people know.

I also have a mother, daughter, brother set of cats now and they are just like you described. They will fight like crazy and then curl up like yours in the photo and they are magnificent to look at.

This was great to read and I love that pic you posted.

  3. Before I moved to the island I had three cats, two of them were brothers. I couldn’t take 3 cats with me. I had to find a home for the brothers. I, too, had them from the time they were babies and they were now 8 years old. We brought them to the Falmouth friends of cats. They promised them a home or they would keep them. When we dropped them off my daughter couldn’t stop crying. She felt it was her fault because we were moving because of her. I felt so bad. Two weeks later I got an e-mail from the kitty brothers’ new owner. My cats were living on a farm. They were together and even slept on their new owner’s bed. The best thing is coincidentally I knew the woman who adopted them.

I love your photo and have fond memories of my kitty boys snuggling up together.

  4. I have never been a “cat person” but I really like photos of cats. Just don’t want to own one. LOL

Please excuse my ignorance but is Navar the husband of Starla??? That is my assumption but you know what they say about assuming! 😉

  5. Hey Gary! Yes Navar is the husband of Starla.;+). LOL

Hey MMH, Joy, Doraz, Joan, and Gary. It’s nice to share stories of our precious faithful companions. One of the really nice things about having animals is that they help to keep perspective. A bit like humor really. To take even a short moment to enjoy the moment. To take a short break from craziness of the everyday world. Very Lucky we are.
