“Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder…” Henry David Thoreau

Nasrudin Steals Happinessby: Author Unknown
Nasrudin saw a man sitting dispiritedly at the side of the road. And asked him what troubled him.
“There is nothing of interest in life, my brother,” said the man.
“I have sufficient capital in order that I don’t have to work, and I am only on this trip in order to seek something more interesting and entertaining than the life I have at home.” “So far I haven’t found it!”
Without another word, Nasrudin seized the travelers knapsack and made off down the…

  1. I’ll be darned looks like I rebloged something. I’ve never tried to reblog before. Have you ever rebloged on your blog? The first two quotes are what caught my eye. Interesting the second quote I remember hearing at a funeral. My friend who had died she was way too young, her ten year old son also passed, she was also pregnant at the time. Her story was on Date Line a few months back. I wrote a post about her story, but it was just too sad to print. I remember sitting in the pew at her funeral watching a slide show of some of the moments of her life. I remember that at that moment I thought there was nothing I could do to bring her back or her son or the baby. I could choose to live Life more and as she always said “To Love More.” I could choose to have adventures, to go out and take pictures and to enjoy nature and to basically get off the couch more. Their lives were cut short by a car accident. I never knew where that quote was from I only remember the To Love More Part. Any way this is my first reblog There are some nice stories about happiness and some beautiful pictures of Butterflys. This post is dedicated to Erin.

    • I’m sorry to read about your friend Erin and her family… a truly sad event. I hope you found some comfort in the words and pictures. Thanks again for sharing this.

      • I thought it really was a wonderful post. The interesting thing the quote “to Love More and be Happy” by Henry David Thoreau I only knew the “To Love more part which always stood out to me, but now I know the other half “Be Happy”. I can intergrate the two “When all your desires are distilled You will cast just two Votes To love more, And be Happy.” Thank You for graciously sharing this wonderful post with me.:+) I also enjoyed reading the stories along with seeing the beautiful photos with the post. :+)

  2. Hi,
No I have never used the reblog. 🙂
The photos of the butterflies look really nice, and I love the quote as well.

It is amazing how sometimes we hear or read something and it will trigger a memory, for you a sad memory, what a terrible tragedy to happen.

    • Hi Mags I was just sitting here thinking that maybe it was strange to reblog a post about Happiness with such a sad memory. I’m not sure but I think life inspires us in different ways and at differnt times. It’s so easy to have moments of forgetfulness and life reminds us with inspiration with friends, animals, blue skys, nature, perfect spring days, music, books, blogs…..

  3. This reminds me of a beautiful video I saw in You tube titled The beauty of pollination” You will like it
Happiness is described in so many ways –Here are the best ones I came across in the net —
Happiness is the interval between periods of unhappiness-
Money cant buy happiness, it can however rent it —

    • Those are great quotes LVISS. :+) It’s definitely somthing worth pondering. I really like that first one so true so true. The second one money can’t buy happiness but it can give you something to do between intervals. :+)

      • You got me so soon It is morning time about 9 am -We are 12 hours apart .
You havent seen the video I mentioned I guess. It is a lovely HD video –

    • Your Welcome The pleasure is mine. Glad that WordPress has this new feature the reblog button, they just keep adding fun to blogging each time I turn around there is a cool feature. Happy Blogging :+)

  4. I have reblogged twice, and will continue to do it occasionally. The one point I would add is the reblogger should ask permission from the originator.

Not only beautiful pictures, but the link to happiness is important. Even though you lost a friend, this post reminded you of her … which is good.

    • Yes, Very good point to ask permission first from the originator. I probably should have gone to the WordPress section to read about reblogging first.:+) It was nice to find this post I was actually starting another post with a Henry David Thoreau quote and found this Gem. Funny how sometimes your writting one post and the idea or thoughts comes about to be inspired for a different post.

    • Thank You Frank I appreciate the shout out on your Blog. I was surprised when I saw your note that I was the 9000 comenter on your Blog that sure is a lot of comments. I am honored to be #9000 Fantastic! :+)

      • One correction … the 9000th comment (not commenter). I don’t want you misquoting yourself. 😉 … But that does beg the question, and how many different commenters have I had? Gosh … that would take some work!

        • I think I need more coffee! Thank You for the correction :+) Funny. May you have 9000 comenters. I guess I need to watch my er’s. I’m learning to dot my T’s and cross my I’s and soon I will be learning to look out for my er’s.
